College Program Expansion
IZ design studio swiftly delivered a 1,050 sq ft expansion for Walla Walla Community College's Nursing program at the Clarkston Campus, addressing space demands and enhancing technology with integrated video conferencing within a tight five-week timeline.
IZ design studio was commissioned to design this 1,050 square foot addition to the main building at the Walla Walla Community College [WWCC] Clarkston Campus. The addition provided much needed space to accommodate WWCC’s high demand Nursing program. Enhanced technology was a key priority for this project. Outdated systems lacked the flexibility to support the Nursing program’s changing learning and teaching environments. The IZ team designed with the College’s current and future needs in mind. The expansion includes integrated video conferencing and IT flexibility to adapt to future upgrades. The original brick-clad structure was not designed with expansion in mind, so the expansion presented numerous technical challenges. Roof drainage, structural, mechanical and electrical systems all required close attention due to tight conditions. Ultimately, the IZ design studio team successfully delivered design and construction documents to meet all client objectives within an accelerated five-week timeline.
