IZ design studio creates a purpose-driven campus designed to support Sage Collegiate’s mission of academic rigor, civic engagement, and structured learning from kindergarten through eighth grade.
Tasked with transforming a former Elks Lodge property into a fully realized K–8 charter school, IZ design studio led a comprehensive redevelopment effort that began with site assessment and campus master planning. Providing end-to-end services, IZ implemented a phased development strategy, ensuring seamless integration of new facilities with uninterrupted campus operations.
Phase I involved the adaptive reuse of a 25,000 square foot commercial building to serve K–5 students, along with new site amenities and a playground. Phase II introduces a 22,500 square foot, three-story academic building for grades 6–8, completing the vision for the school’s expansion. The resulting campus reflects both the school’s long-term growth trajectory and its commitment to equity-driven education.
